Recipes for 7-Up

Cake: Mix all ingredients; beat 3 minutes with an electric mixer at medium speed. Pour into 3 greased and floured cake pans. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Topping: Mix sugar, flour, margarine, and eggs. Cook until thickened. Add fruit and nuts, mixing well. Pour topping between layers and on top of warm cake.

7-Up Salad

6 oz. package lemon jello
2 cups hot water
2 cups 7-Up
2 cups crushed pineapple, in juice
-- reserve juice
3 bananas, diced

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. flour
1/2 cup reserved pineapple juice
2 T. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 cup whipping cream

Dissolve jello in hot water, then add 7-Up. Chill until partly set. Add crushed pineapple and diced bananas; chill until firm. Top with Topping.

Topping: Mix sugar and flour. Add reserved pineapple juice, butter and egg. Cook until thick over medium heat, stirring constantly. The egg in this makes it very easy to scorch. When thickened, allow to cool. Whip the cream and fold into the cooked mixture. Spread on top of firmly set jello.

Follow the standard recipe for biscuits, but instead of using water, replace the water with 7-up. Bake according to directions.

Yes, you can even use 7-up as a basting sauce for Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Pork and Fish. It tastes great!

One final note, 7-up is good to use to help keep your Christmas/Yule tree fresh and lasting longer. Use it in addition to water and you will have a very happy tree.
